Cosmetic Pre-Procedure Instructions
I want you to feel relaxed, informed, and excited for your appointment. Permanent cosmetic treatments are a process and a little prep on your end helps us get the best possible result.
Permanent cosmetics are usually done over more than one session. A follow-up or “perfecting” appointment is typically needed about 6–12 weeks after your first visit to complete your look. Right after your procedure, the color will look more intense—sharper, brighter, or darker than you may have pictured. This is temporary. As your skin naturally exfoliates and heals, the color will soften and settle into a more natural tone. Some redness or mild swelling is normal, especially in delicate areas. Because of this, many clients prefer not to make big social plans for a day or two afterward. It’s also a good idea not to schedule your procedure too close to major life events (like weddings, photoshoots, or vacations), since everyone heals a little differently and some people need extra time or additional sessions.
What to Expect
How to Prepare for Your Appointment
Brow Clients
• Please arrive wearing your usual everyday makeup, and bring any brow pencils, lip colors, or liners you love so I can see the shades and shapes you’re used to.
• If you groom your brows, avoid hair removal in the area to be treated a minimum of 48 hours in advance. After your procedure, avoid all hair removal in the area for at least two weeks.
• Any lash or brow tinting, lifting, or curling should be done no sooner than 48 hours before your procedure. Please wait at least two weeks after your cosmetic tattoo before doing these services again.
• Please do not wear contact lenses during your eyeliner appointment or immediately afterward. Bring your glasses to wear instead. You can return to your contacts once your eyes feel completely normal and comfortable again.
• If you have ever had cold sores, fever blisters, or a herpes simplex outbreak (even once), you should contact your doctor ahead of time for an antiviral prescription. This helps greatly reduce the chance of a flare-up after your lip procedure.
Medications, Alcohol and Other Considerations
• Please avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen and other blood-thinning medications or supplements for seven days before and two days after your procedure, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Never stop a prescribed medication without talking to your physician first.
• Refrain from using recreational or judgment-altering substances for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment so you can feel calm, clear, and comfortable throughout the process.
If you have sensitive skin, allergies, or simply feel more comfortable trying a small test first, a skin test is available by request before your procedure. Just let me know in advance so we can plan for it.
